Questions, answered

The things people ask before they start.

Does Lumio connect to my bank?

No. Lumio never asks for your bank login or credentials. You export a CSV or Excel file from your bank and import it yourself, and that data stays on your device.

Is Lumio a subscription?

Lumio comes two ways. Lumio Desktop is a one-time purchase you keep forever. Lumio Cloud is a $9/month (or $90/year) subscription that syncs across web, mobile, and desktop. Both start with a free 14-day trial.

What does Lumio cost?

Lumio Desktop is a one-time purchase of $79. Lumio Cloud is $9/month or $90/year. Every plan is free for the first 14 days, no credit card required.

What platforms does Lumio support?

Lumio Desktop runs on Mac and Windows. Lumio Cloud works in any modern browser and syncs across web, mobile, and desktop.

Where is my financial data stored?

With Lumio Desktop, only on your device — no account, works fully offline. With Lumio Cloud, your data is stored securely so it can sync across your devices; it is encrypted and never sold. Either way, Lumio never asks for your bank login.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan is free for 14 days with no credit card. After that you choose the desktop or cloud plan that fits.

How do I get my transactions into Lumio?

Export a CSV or Excel file from your bank and drop it into Lumio. It handles separate debit and credit columns or a single amount column.

How is Lumio different from YNAB, Monarch, or Mint?

Those apps require linking your bank accounts. Lumio never does — you import CSV or Excel files you control. And you choose how to pay: a one-time desktop purchase, or a low-cost cloud subscription.

Is this related to other apps named Lumio?

No. This Lumio, at lumioapp.io by Lumio App LLC, is a private budgeting app (desktop and cloud) with no bank connections. It is a separate product from other apps that share the name.

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes. You can export all of your data at any time and delete everything in one click.
